Downtown Ottawa

September 29th, 2004

Went to Carleton today. Visited CIMS and met some of the crew.

After that, a bus trip to downtown Ottawa. Apologize to all, I forgot my camera. So yeah, the weather was fine, the scenery was good, the trip was excellent but no photos yet… Sorry. But please do visit Place + Thyme for some nice Ottawa’s pictures. It sure helps me to recognize the scenery (at least I recognize the National Library because of this photo).

Anyway, Ottawa is a nice city. It is quaint (the word are stolen from my professor at CIMS). More about Ottawa later. I must get some sleep now.

All my bags are packed and I'm ready to go…

September 24th, 2004

I will be leaving Germany tomorrow morning.

I will be doing my research for my Master thesis at Carleton University, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Yup, I will cross the Atlantic Ocean this year. I will be staying in Ottawa until January 2005 and will return to Lübeck, Germany to finish my Master thesis.

Another chapter of my life, another experience and another journey. Beside doing my research I may look for the opportunity to continue my education after I get my Master degree. Yes, I am interested on getting my Ph.D. Me? Ph.D.? Well, some of you who knew my Bachelor’s years will raise the eyebrows… Person change, folks, and I finally decided that I have to continue the pursuit of higher knowledge and education.

So here I am, in Hannover, feeling anxious about leaving Germany and coming to Canada. Amazing how fast the time is moving, last year I was still wondering about my life in Jakarta and today I am in Germany and tomorrow in Canada.

Thank you for you all who always wish me luck, that means a lot to me. Again, wish me the best! I will post all of my experiences and of course, photos while I am there!

Write to you all later!

Got my visa!

September 17th, 2004

First of all, thank you to all of you who wish me luck, I finally got my visa! It’s a working visa, since the regulation said that as a visiting researcher I am basically is an employee of the research department who hosted me, and it valid until the end of January 2005.

So, yes, I will leave Germany sometime next week to … Ah, I believe some of you already know where I will be going ;) . But I need to get my plane ticket first. Tomorrow I will buy the ticket, it will be damn expensive since it is such a short notice =(.

I am in Hannover right now since I planned to leave directly from Hannover. It was a sad moment to leave Lübeck even though it just temporary because I must come back after I finished my research to write my Master thesis and finished it on March 2005. Time flies, eh?

So again, thank you for all of your best wish! Keep wish me luck, friends, I am still a lot of it.

Will keep on posting the progress…

Get Rich Quick!

September 14th, 2004

Those three words really work like magic. Who doesn’t want to get rich in a short amount of time? Almost everybody want to be rich. As if the money is the most important thing in the world, well… it is important but is it really the most important? Looks like it tho, for most people and what do you think e-mail spam or scam or fraud is all about? To get rich quick! That’s why!

No, of course not you who receive the spam/scam/fraud then believe what they are saying and in the end becoming their victim…

And these people are really aggressive, damn aggressive to threat you even if you are just complaining about it. It reminds me of the thugs in Kampung Rambutan Bus Terminal, Jakarta. It seems that even a different idea is a ungrateful error in their mind. Hello? I thought we already learned how to respect other people differences!
