Winter Vacation

December 20th, 2003

Tomorrow noon I will travel to Rotterdam to meet my friend and together we will travel by car to Brides les Bains to play some ski (although I prefer snowboarding but I’ll see).

So until then, happy holiday everyone. I’ll try to find some internet connection there but if I can’t find it I will be back some time after New Year. See you!!!

Winter Edition

December 19th, 2003

I feel kinda “wintery” today… So, here it is, journal.avianto.com’s Winter Edition.

Nothing much to change except the ‘feeling’ and thanks to my CSS-based layout it only took me less than 2 hours to change it (most of the work are the graphical works, less work on the layout).

Well, I hope you like this new layout and right now I have to prepare for my Winter vacation and this new layout is giving you some hints about it ;) .

Christmas Break!

December 18th, 2003

I will have christmas break tomorrow for two weeks. I have a plan and if that plan work then I will be doing some travel (with car, bus, train and all of that moving things =P) and it kinda hard to write new entry since I don’t know if I will get internet access or not during my trip.

But I will report my trip if I have internet access, so pray for me that I will have it during my trip, ok?

Until then, have a great holiday everyone!!!

Zeldman's book

December 17th, 2003

I’ve got my own copy of Designing with Web Standards book by Jeffrey Zeldman yesterday, thanks to Amazon Deutschland‘s fast delivery. This is a must have book if you are really concerned about the state of the art of designing website: using standards!!!

I’ve been preaching about using standards in my design community (especially among Indonesian web designer) for more than a year now with only small achievement. Most of them just don’t care… or too damn lazy to relearn everything. But Zeldman’s book give some light for my problem and I think I will be able to stand still on my believe in using web standards.

Read this book and 99.9% chance that you will be a believer in using web standards =)
