dubya*'s absurdity…
January 29th, 2003
i rarely comment about politic especially foreign politic. but dubya’s state of union speech was not only about politic…
it was about absurdity…
i only speaking about the last part of dubya’s speech, as i don’t really care about america’s economic problem, health problem and other problem, which is about war against iraq.
as we all know, dubya and his croonies is pushing very hard to get into war against iraq. dubya said the reason of the invasion to iraq is that iraq posses the mass-destruction weapons… yeah, right… so is america.
if i was one of the country leader i will demand the weapon list of america because america is threatening other countries with their super power weapon. and i will demand america to disarm them because well, the only country that ever used nuclear power was america. i just wonder why no country leader think about this loud, clear and bare fact?
are the leader of all countries too afraid to america? i think so… the real threat left in this world is america (well, the government of america… i am not against the people of america). of course there are many terrorist organization through out the world but the most organized and with the most advanced weaponry is still the government and military of america.
the pre-emptive strike reason is one of the absurd reason i’ve ever read/heard. well, yes the offence is the best defence but it only happened if the battle already began and the offence doesn’t mean that we had to start the battle.
comparing dubya to hilter and his nazi may sound a bit exaggerated. but yes, they look and feel the same.
i can write a ton of absurdity considering this ‘situation’ but i’ll save it for another occasions and to close this writing i will quote a little from dubya’s speech:
If this is not evil, then evil has no meaning. And tonight I have a message for the brave and oppressed people of Iraq: Your enemy is not surrounding your country. Your enemy is ruling your country. And the day he and his regime are removed from power will be the day of your liberation.
I think we should change the word “iraq” to “america” to make a correct phrase . dubya is like sauron in the lord of the ring trilogy, the different is dubya already wear the one ring.
*footnote: dubya = george w. bush

obsessed with standards…
January 27th, 2003
for almost over a year i’ve been very obsessed with css and (x)html and since then i’ve been a regular visitor on WaSP‘s (that’s Web Standards Project) site.
wired‘s website using the standard and it prove that standard doesn’t mean that we can’t be creative. so i am very glad to find out doug‘s website because he’s one of the responsible person that changed wired into ‘web standard version’.
i also found many blog that dedicated to (x)html and css. including scott andrew, craig saila, eric meyer, jeffrey zeldman and a lot more which i will post here later.
may the standards be with you…
2 lucky streaks and a couple of adversities…
January 25th, 2003
I won kabelvision‘s ‘hbo’s six feet under’ quiz and got a calendar, a cool mug (it’s very very cool) and voucher to shop at sogo department store… then today i won (well, won it’s not a right word) ‘arisan’ at my office. (i want to explain what ‘arisan’ is… maybe some other time). well that’s 2 lucky streaks…
the funny things that suddenly i felt something was wrong and wondering what adversity may come next after all of this… after all i’ve never been considered a ‘lucky’ person… maybe i should never thought about that because my fear turn out to be true…
before i won the quiz, my system hard drive was acting funny. it still okay now, but i fear that in a couple of day it will completely useless, so i was saving to buy a new one. then suddenly yesterday my printer was acting strange then tonight my cd-rw drive was broke. ok… i had to fix the printer and buy a new hard drive and cd-rw… well so much for winning ‘arisan’.
and guess what, it’s not over yet. as i walked to the kitchen after get grumpy about the cd-rw, my foot knock down my coffee mug (the new mug, the cool mug)… and as i pick it up and wave it because i think it’s already empty, well… it didn’t… so i painted the wall with coffee’s stain. that’s it… i had enough of this… i think i will go to sleep after some cleaning up… =(
but… i am still glad that i had 2 lucky streaks… =)))

January 24th, 2003
done. i’ve done reading lirael. as i expect this is a great book. not as enchanting as the first one but still a great sequel and the ending is typical of middle book in a trilogy.
now.. just waiting for the last book ‘abhorsen’ to be published in tradepaperback.
